Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!  Let 2013 be a fantastic year full of health and happiness, peace and love, kindness, compassion and forgiveness for all.

This past year was the most amazing year of my life.  I had no idea what having a baby would bring and the feeling is indescribable.  She is my light and my love.  I’m so thankful for my wonderful husband, our families and my amazing daughter.  I’m sure 2013 will have a lot more in store for us and I look forward to it all!

In typical fashion, I have resolutions.  Some are the same as they are a constant work in progress, and some are new.

1.  Lose weight/be healthy.

2.  Save money/budget better.

3.  Finally do something with my wedding dress!  I’m planning to have the skirt made into a Christmas tree skirt and pieces of fabric made into these (one for me and one for my little girl).

4.  Declutter, throw unused, unloved stuff OUT.  The major goal is to clear out the spare bedroom as my former craft room is now the nursery and that stuff all moved into the spare room.

5.  Live in the moment.  I don’t do this enough.  I want to live in the moment, try not to sweat the small stuff as most of it really truly is in fact small, and unplug more.  I don’t want to be a slave to social media.  There is a time and a place and many ways to occupy my time rather than surfing Facebook.

Most importantly, I will focus on my family.  They are my everything.  I’m so fortunate to see my parents nearly every day, even if just for a few minutes.  My husband is my rock.  He’s amazing and I am thankful every day that we found each other.  Together, we will focus on raising our beautiful little girl and helping her become a wonderful little person.

Happy New Year!

Better Days

Heard this song this morning and especially at this time of year I think the lyrics are perfect.

Better Days – Goo Goo Dolls

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days
Cuz I don’t need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days

So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again

And it’s someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And thats faith and trust and peace while we’re alive
And the one poor child that saved this world
And there’s 10 million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them

So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again

I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days

So take these words
And sing out loud
Cuz everyone is forgiven now
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again
Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again
