Meet Rocky!

I’ve been MIA from the blog this week (which will likely continue for another week or two) because on Sunday we went to pick up the newest addition to our family….Rocky the 11 week old Boxer puppy!

He is ADORABLE.  He loves Abby and follows her around all the time and just wants to play.  He’s doing pretty well at potty training.  I haven’t had any meltdowns yet and by this time with Abby I had been in tears.  I guess she “broke us in” so to speak.

So here’s the reason I’m tired and constantly busy:

God I love weekends.  Really, it’s a love so true and strong that I cannot find the right words.

We are usually so busy though on the weekends but it’s time to make a conscious effort to reign it in and spend more time actually working around the house.  We did a HUGE push when P moved in to rearrange rooms, repaint rooms, install new lights, fans, outlets, etc but then after all that work, we needed a very long break.

Well, this is the end of that more than a year long break.  Time to tackle some more projects now that the weather is decent.

Never mind the fact that my “craft room” looks like it should be on an episode of hoarders.  I guess I’ll tackle that one first.

Have a great weekend!

Coming Soon….

I have a LOT of knitting to do.  Just for the holidays ahead, I have to at least knit a vest, seven pairs of mittens, and I’m sure a few other odd items that will pop into my head. However, I do want a quick gratifying project for me too.

I’m thinking of this sweater.  I have some dark green bulky yarn that may just work perfectly.

Hopefully I can squeeze in a little knitting for that soon.

Things I’m Digging Now

As you all know, I am a shopper.  I have gotten much better at curbing myself but I do love to hunt for cool stuff.  This blog is one I subscribe to that sometimes posts links to stuff that is right up my alley.

In fact, her recent post made me swoon and I had to add the skull cake pan to my wish list immediately.

I also saw somewhere a link for these envelope templates so that you can make your own envelopes easily with whatever pretty paper you like.

Being from New England and being a knitter, I’m also planning to pick up this book very soon.

While I am a Coach bag kind of girl, this bag I found on Etsy is quite appealing to me.

Speaking of Etsy, I just love going to the site to see the collection of items they post on the home page.  It all flows and goes together so nicely.  Great marketing really.  I’m often tempted to snatch up a little collection of items myself.

Hope you all enjoy the links!  Have a great day!

We had my Mom, Dad and brother over for a little cookout to celebrate Mom’s birthday that was last week.

One of her gifts was a shawl.  I had knit her my very first lace shawl last year that she wears as an accent/accessory to an outfit.  This one is a bit of a heavier yarn with a blend that includes Alpaca and will be good as a scarf once the colder weather unrolls.

I think she likes it.

Raspberry Cream Cupcakes

Last weekend, P and I went berry picking.  We’ve been so busy that it seemed to be our last shot at raspberries before they were gone so we went and picked as much as we could. While there were berries, the picking was nothing like it was early season.

In my usual fashion, when we got home from our errands  for the day, I set to work.

I made a batch and a half of raspberry jam, some Raspberry Muffins and most importantly, Raspberry Cream Cupcakes.

I felt like it was cheating to use the boxed cake mix but at least they had you add stuff to it.

I’d say these are winners.  I’m more of a yellow cake fan myself and love filling so it was a win/win in that aspect.  Definitely worth a try!

TGIF people.  It is Friday and life is good.

While we of course have some plans this weekend, it is rather limited and we are so psyched.  We are in some dire need of relaxation and rest so bring it on.

Have a great weekend!
