Happy New Year Everyone!

I am so looking forward to 2009!  It is full of a lot of promise.

2008 was a hard year for me.  Lots of very large life decisions to make and none of it easy.  The end of 2008 I must admit has been fantastic so I can definitely look very optimistically towards ’09!

I am a huge fan of resolutions.  Unfortunately some seem to continue on year after year after year.

Here’s a few of mine:

1.  Get back to blogging!  I’ve got plenty to say/post, just need to get back into it.

2.  The typical and dreaded “lose weight”.  Strangely enough, I’m feeling better about myself than I have in a VERY long time, weight included.  It feels great to feel good about myself while still having a goal to…well, feel even better later.  So this one is to be healthier and drop some pounds in the process without any unrealistic pressure to drop a certain amount by a certain date.

3.  Spin, sew and read more.  I’ve been knitting quite a bit actually.  I had prepped for a craft fair and made a crapload of bags, knitted some Christmas gifts, and now am working on some super fabulous mittens that I’ll have to tell you about later, but the other hobbies have sort of fallen away.  I haven’t spun since JULY.  WOW.  I know I will spin at SPA in Feb so maybe that’s when I’ll jump back in.

4.  Maintain balance.  I love my friends and family which is definitely not a bad thing.  I’m also blessed to have a large number of AWESOME friends.  Also not a bad thing until you try to get together with ALL of them on a regular basis.  I need to work on keeping some “me” time in there and balancing time better.

5.  Budget.  This has always been hard for me and I am a shopper.  I usually shop when upset/depressed though and I’ve been the happiest I’ve been in a long time so I think that will improve there.  But all in all, I need to see where my life and living situation take me in the next couple months and really re-think and re-budget myself.  I’d really love to try to get out of the debt I’ve accumulated.

6.  Be more patient.  Life is too short to be constantly aggravated with people so I’m going to try to be more patient.  In line, in crowds, on the roads, you get the picture.  Conduct myself with grace and be patient.  (Bethe, stop laughing).

I guess that’s it for now, and probably plenty to bite off for the coming year.

I hope you all have a great New Year’s celebration and I’ll be blogging with you in 2009!  Have a fun and safe New Year and good luck with your own resolutions!
