Archive for November, 2006

I know I don’t post much, but I’m going to blame it on the season.  No pretty pictures because they are all gifts and I don’t want to ruin surprises!  So, after the 25th, I promise, I pledge, I swear that I will have some more interesting content here!

For now, I am proud to report that I have finished my first ever glove (WITH fingers!).
So here is my updated list:

WIP’s to finish:
*Glove
*Sweater
*Hat
*Bag

If I have time:
*Another bag
*Pair of mittens or gloves
*One more hat

I know I will have time.  I also need to work on another gift that I will need to give in February so I need to put that in motion.

I hope to have a better update in terms of progress in a week, or at least by Monday.  I hope that by December 18th I will be working on finishing my Rogue!

So, let’s do a contest.  Seems that there are a lot happening right now and I’m getting lucky winning some so let me spread the joy.  The prize?  Some yarny goodness from my stash.  The contest?  Tell me what you have left to knit for the holidays and if you think you’ll make your goal.  AND also, tell me what your next, post holiday project will be!

I’ll close the contest Monday night at midnight, winner to be drawn from a hat on Tuesday so post your comments now!

Just a little update….

It’s been a busy week.  I had a birthday, there was Thanksgiving, and a whole lot o’ knitting.

On Wednesday, November 22 I turned 29.  God. Help. Me.  To celebrate, I promptly went to CVS and purchased some hair dye and some anti-aging products.  Fun.  Figured I should head it all off at the pass if I can.  I mean now, I am, truly, actually, pushing 30.  UGH.  I was just 20 yesterday it seems.  What the heck happened to my 20’s?  Oh well.

My friends and family were so good to me that it took some sting out of my ripe old age.
Again, no pics, boring I know, so I apologize.

My knitting girls took me out to dinner and it was a lot of fun and laughter.  I also received some very lovely gifts.  A gorgeous necklace (that is green and blingy and I love it), some candles, wine, a handbag, gloves, a CD, stationary, and some moolah.  I appreciate everyone in my life, my friends and family and am so lucky to have them.  You know who you are, and you rock.  Thank you.

There was also Thanksgiving.  It was a nice day, lots of good food and family time.  We had dinner at my parents’ house and dessert at Peter’s parents’.  We then hung in for the long weekend avoiding anything that could be construed as a store.  I may be crazy but I’m not that crazy to deal with the shopping crowds.  I don’t even care if there was free yarn!  I still would not be able to deal with the crowds.

While hanging in, I got a lot of knitting done.  I now have a much smaller list of items to complete in the next 28 days:
*Sweater
*Gloves
*2 Bags
*A hat

This is soooo doable.  I may even have time whip out some extras too.

Oh, and today is my lucky day it seems…..I won Valerie’s contest and scored myself a fresh skein of Fleece Artist sock yarn.  What could be better than that?!

I’m not dead.

I’m just lacking blogging mojo.  Rhinebeck was great, I’m sure I have some good pics, just haven’t uploaded the camera since then.  I will post sometime soon with some pretty pics!

Well, you may wonder what I’ve been up to since I haven’t been updating my blog…

And the answer is absolutely nothing exciting.  This time of year I become a slave to holiday gift knitting.  I have accomplished a lot, so far, a total of 10 finished knitted gifts.  However, I still have to do 8 more and one of them is a biggie.  So, please excuse me for a bit if I’m a terrible neglectful blogger.  I’m just too busy knitting to type.  Don’t even ask me about spinning or my Rogue sweater.  They are banished until December 26th.

I will say this though:  I was able to fix the spinning wheel to get it to a usable place for less than $20 so the whole wheel was less than $60 for me and is still brand spankin’ new.  More on this to come!  Stay tuned, but don’t hold your breath until the next update!
