The Curly Knitter

Just a little update….

It’s been a busy week.  I had a birthday, there was Thanksgiving, and a whole lot o’ knitting.

On Wednesday, November 22 I turned 29.  God. Help. Me.  To celebrate, I promptly went to CVS and purchased some hair dye and some anti-aging products.  Fun.  Figured I should head it all off at the pass if I can.  I mean now, I am, truly, actually, pushing 30.  UGH.  I was just 20 yesterday it seems.  What the heck happened to my 20’s?  Oh well.

My friends and family were so good to me that it took some sting out of my ripe old age.
Again, no pics, boring I know, so I apologize.

My knitting girls took me out to dinner and it was a lot of fun and laughter.  I also received some very lovely gifts.  A gorgeous necklace (that is green and blingy and I love it), some candles, wine, a handbag, gloves, a CD, stationary, and some moolah.  I appreciate everyone in my life, my friends and family and am so lucky to have them.  You know who you are, and you rock.  Thank you.

There was also Thanksgiving.  It was a nice day, lots of good food and family time.  We had dinner at my parents’ house and dessert at Peter’s parents’.  We then hung in for the long weekend avoiding anything that could be construed as a store.  I may be crazy but I’m not that crazy to deal with the shopping crowds.  I don’t even care if there was free yarn!  I still would not be able to deal with the crowds.

While hanging in, I got a lot of knitting done.  I now have a much smaller list of items to complete in the next 28 days:
*Sweater
*Gloves
*2 Bags
*A hat

This is soooo doable.  I may even have time whip out some extras too.

Oh, and today is my lucky day it seems…..I won Valerie’s contest and scored myself a fresh skein of Fleece Artist sock yarn.  What could be better than that?!

Happy Belated Birthday! I’m glad you were showered with wonderful gifts! If you think 29 is old–wait till you’re MY age, LOL!

Good luck with your gift knitting! You’ve got an impressive goal there so I hope your fingers stay nimble and your eyes stay focused!

I’m glad you had a good birthday, even if it means you are getting older. I know what you mean though. I can feel 30 looming (it’s less than 6 months away) and am thinking that maybe I’ll just ignore my birthday this year.

Okay the fact that you say only and all those things is impressive to me! I *only* have to finish my horse’s blanket and I have NO faith that it will actually get done!

P.S. 30 is fun…

Happy belated birthday. As someone who just turned 40 … embrace it and enjoy it! The older we get the faster the time goes so it isn’t worth fearing it — just enjoy what you have.
